In a range of sessions at the enjoyable Landmark Hotel, attendees were informed about improvements in the Spring '07 release. During the breaks the participants got the chance to learn more about, and even test, the different partner solutions listed on the AppExchange directory, all of which are ready for integration into salesforce.com’s CRM solutions. By now more than 500 applications are listed for almost every imaginable business situation and can be found at www.appexchange.com.Lindsay Armstrong, Co-President of EMEA, in her inaugural address, spoke about the continued strong growth of the SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) market. The hosted software model provided by salesforce.com means that there is no necessity to purchase the software but the use of which has to be paid for by a monthly subscription fee.
The key company data presented in London pointed out this trend:
- 29,800 customers
- 646,000 subscribers
- the 5000th customer in EMEA, Rolls Royce Motor Cars
- 52% growth over the last year in EMEA 51% market share of hosted CRM
A couple of days ago, the new version of the web based CRM suite went live for all customers. With the second release that took place this year, the on demand vendor, salesforce.com, have shown once again how fast they are able to react to customer needs and requirements, or, in other words, on-demand. Some of the new functionalities and improvements were available straight after take-off, while others were limited to single editions or needed to be activated by an administrator.
